Jenny's Diary

October 22, 2002 - I learned a little something about the power of the internet yesterday, when Daddy posted a link to this site on a message board for racing fans. He did this because the picture of the day was of me watching a race on TV.

Racing fans are pretty dedicated people and a bunch of them drove on over here to check it out. They drove the hit counter from somewhere around 50 to over 200, and quickly discovered the limitations of hosting my site on a freebie service with all the limitations on bandwidth and content that come with that. Even a Pug can understand the concept, "you get what you pay for", and now we're thinking about how often we anticipate getting a lot of visitors in a single day and how those will increase the likelihood that they will, in effect, shut down the site due to going over the bandwidth limitations we agreed to when we signed up.

There's a pretty good chance that we'll evacuate the freebie service and actually pay for something a little more flexible and controllable, stay tuned for that.

Alan and Kate had another fun weekend in Connecticut. They went up the week before for a race that got rained out, so they went back the next week only to get rained out again. They'll try again this week, but the forecast isn't too optimistic, at least at this writing, so I fully expect to get dropped off at Kris and Danny's yet again the week after that.

They know what to expect when they pick me up. I'm happy as heck to see them, and I'll run them ragged for a while once we get home. But after a weekend when I'm around Buffy, Heidi, Sam, Shiloh and Otis, it won't be long after coming in the door before I'm conked out and snoozing on the living room floor.

After all, isn't sleeping what we Pugs do best?

Till next time, Jenny
